Why is hiring a professional portrait photographer for your family photoshoot important?

Our children grow up in a second, a blink of an eye.  Before you know it, you’re no longer taking that early morning walk to nursery, their off to primary school, high school… Which is where they hate having their photograph taken.  Then college and last of all university.

Studio photoshoots of parents and grandparents are equally as important.

But it not just your children who you should capture memories of.  Your parents and immediate family members, like grandparents.  It’s so important to have memories and photographs to be handed down for generations.  It’s just a cliché, but its true.  And when these family members are no longer around, it then you wish you had taken my advice.

Of course weddings are also great place to get these very special shots.  But finding a photo studio near you, with an established photographer who is used to family photoshoots is very important.  That’s why Rycraft Studios, a Liverpool photographer all his life, is the man for the job.

Finding a local studio that can capture your children grow up.

It’s a great idea to find a photo studio that photographs newborn and children.  You want a family photographer that can capture your family as it grows, not only with new additions, but as they get older.  A photographer for life.

Don’t miss any moments

I mean it’s easy to photograph using your phone nowadays, it’s built within us now to take photos every day.  And they are very good.  But nothing really beats a professional photoshoot.  Even if it’s every few years to update your family photo.

Of course you need to think about the type of style of family photoshoot you might want.

Style of portrait photography

Some photographers shoot very natural family photos, the children playing, laughing, having fun.  Maybe with toys or props.

Other studio photographers like to stage the shot, even style it with clothes, so you all match.  Commonly known nowadays as Fine Art Photoshoots.  They are exceptional images, absolutely beautiful.  So you need to find the right photographer to delivery exceptional work when choosing this style.  Mostly award winning family photographers would be the best choice.

Others offer outside shoots, these are very natural, in your surroundings, maybe choose a location that is special to you.  And even at your home.

Capturing your life through images

It really is just that.  Your life through images.  Some photographers also shoot weddings, just like Rycraft Studios.  So we are not just your family photographers, we’re your life photographer.  Imagine using a photographer for your wedding, then having your son or daughter use them too.  All whilst capturing your family as they have grown up.

When to have your family photo shoot?

If you find a family photographer local to you, which has their own studio, then time of year shouldn’t matter.  This is where choosing the right professional photographer is very important.  As not only will they have studio location for you to have a shoot in, but they will also show you your images there too.

Just like Rycraft Studios, they have their reveal sessions straight after your shoot at the studio on a huge 60” screen in the state of the art photography studio.

How much to pay for your family photographer?

Price of your family photographer varies and they all offer different items in their packages.

Some focus on digital images  and usually include a handful within the initial shooting fee.  And maybe a few prints.

Others just charge a small shoot fee with the expectation you will buy more images afterwards.

Then some actually set out a small amount of packages all including everything they offer.

It’s pretty typical to see anything from £50 to £300 for the initial portrait shoot cost, with lots of extras to be added afterwards.  Obviously the more experienced photographers will be more expensive, that’s a given.  So it really depends on your budget and quality of work your expecting or wanting to hand on your wall.

What about wall art and prints?

A lot of studios will just offer digital images.  But the finest studios will include prints and offer wall art as additional extras.  I mean when was the last time you printed a photos from your phone?

If you receive just digital images it’s unlikely you will make the effort to have any printed.  Once shared in Facebook or Instagram, you’ll forget all about them.

So try find a Liverpool family photographer that also offers printing and wall art options.

There is nothing better than showing off your family to friends and family when they come around to your house.  And put it in the dominant place, so not only will they see it, but every day it will remind you of your beautiful family.
