Through technology art heals people online
LOS ANGELES —. A new digital art initiative is offering the public free access to
thousands of vivid, uplifting photographs — with the goal of promoting
emotional and physical healing through art.
CoolColorPhotos, an online fine art show created by Los Angeles–based
artist Andrew Lawrence, features more than 4,000 of his digital photographic
works now available on Fine Art America. The project seeks to make
art universally accessible while exploring its potential therapeutic effects in
both medical and non=medical environments. And, thanks to technology, it can be
done.
Lawrence says, “I realized that even a
few moments spent looking at something beautiful in the art world could bring a
sense of calm and uplift the spirit,” Lawrence said. “That experience convinced
me to make my work available to everyone, everywhere, for free.” And modern
technology made it possible. Technology made it possible to create digital art.
The internet provides art hosting and gives access to viewing and/or buying art
worldwide. Technology
has revolutionized society, and art. According to a leading AI site, ChatGPT, viewing art can be very
beneficial. Viewing
art can make you feel better in several powerful psychological, emotional, and
physical ways:
It activates your brain’s reward system
“When you look at art you find beautiful or meaningful,
your brain releases dopamine, the same “feel-good” chemical involved in love,
pleasure, and motivation. This can literally create a sense of joy or calm.”
It creates
self-reflection and meaning
“Seeing art can prompt introspection — “Why does this make
me feel this way?” — helping you understand yourself and your values more
deeply. That kind of reflection often leads to emotional relief and insight.”
It reduces stress
“Studies
show that viewing art can lower cortisol levels and slow your heart rate. Even
brief exposure to art has been linked to reduced anxiety and improved mood.”
For these reasons, innovative creative artist, Andrew
Lawrence, is seeking collaboration/partnership to make his work available
online, worldwide, for viewing by everyone, everywhere, for free. “Simply look
at my cool colorful art photos and feel better in seconds.”
The online art show can be
viewed on any internet-connected device, eliminating traditional barriers to
accessing fine art. Lawrence hopes the platform will provide moments of relief
and inspiration for patients, caregivers, employees and/or the public
navigating high-stress in their professional and/or personal life. This is also
applicable to tech workers and consumers as they are often isolated from people
and nature.
Participation
Organizations can
participate in the program as sponsors. They promote the program
and supply the link to it. Viewers do not need to sign in or create an account
to explore the artwork. And exploring/viewing it is free.
Sponsors are encouraged to
distribute links to the collection through newsletters, emails, and social
media channels. Lawrence describes the initiative as “a continuous, digital
fine art viewing experience” designed to make the restorative qualities of
color and form widely available. As the artist calls it, “Inhaling beautiful
art and exhaling stress and pain.” Sponsors can benefit from positive publicity
in promoting something that’s not only beautiful but healthy. I invite your
organization to become a sponsor.
Sponsorship Structure
The program currently
offers three sponsorship
tiers, ranging from $25,000-$50,000.
